My Top Ten Summer Recipes for Kids

I've created the ultimate list of healthy summer recipes that kids will love! Here you will find everything you possibly need for the sunshine, from easy dinners to barbecue ideas to ice pops. From the perfect Indian fakeaway to yummy picnic treats, there is something for everyone!

1. Hummus with Coriander and Lime

Hummus is the perfect food for summer as it is so versatile and easy to pop into a portion pot and bring with you for days out.  Use it as a spread, or chop some veggies to dip for a super healthy snack. A top tip is to add it to a portion pot and take to your next picnic.

2. Sweetcorn Muffins

Savoury muffins are a great snack to pack for any summer adventure. These Sweetcorn Muffins have a natural sweetness that your little ones will adore! Store in our airtight 8oz/237ml portion pots and your ready for any rumbles in your child's tummy.

Everyone loves Mac and Cheese, and everyone loves muffins, so why not combine the two? This snack feels yummy enough to pack as a delicious lunch for a picnic, but it is actually deceptively healthy!

4. Homemade Chicken Fingers and Chips

The best way to avoid reaching for take aways or less healthy options this summer is to have delicious chicken and chip options at home! Batch cook these healthy chicken fingers, and having them on hand for when you are short on time. Store in your portion pots in the freezer for up to 3-4 months.

5. Pistachio Pesto

Pesto is such a versatile sauce, and salt-free homemade versions taste so much better than the shop bought variety. From sandwiches to pasta, this delicious pesto recipe is one you will be using again and again this summer. Store in our 6oz/180ml portion pot to take out and about or freeze an extra for future use.

6. Salmon Pasta with Courgetti

Nobody wants a heavy meal when the weather is warm. This is a deliciously light dish, packed with veggies and salmon. The hidden courgetti means that you can up the veggie intake of picky eaters. This is the ideal dish to pop in a Food Flask and take as a yummy lunch on the go!

This yummy, vegetarian curry is a wonderfully healthy alternative to an Indian takeaway. Full of flavour, this is perfect to batch cook and freeze in a portion pot.
