This basil pesto is a really simple sauce to prepare and it can be used as a quick pasta meal or as a spread on a sandwich. Simple but delicious! Let the kids get involved in making this up as they will love to taste it at the end to make sure it's just right.

Makes: 4 Adult portions
Ingredients
50g pine nuts, toasted
Large bunch of basil leaves
½ garlic clove
35g Parmesan, grated
100ml extra virgin olive oil
Squeeze of lemon juice
Ground black pepper
Method
- Lightly toast the pine nuts and allow to cool.
- Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until combined.
- Season to taste and add additional olive oil if required.
Weaning and Storage
6 months+ - Use as a dip for finger foods such as chopped vegetables or pasta.
