This Carrot Puree is a great first food to offer your weaning baby. The natural sweetness makes it a real treat, great as a dip served with finger food such as Homemade Oatcakes or whole pasta pieces; a healthy baby led weaning snack your whole family can enjoy.

3 large carrots
Method
- Prepare your steamer. Meanwhile, wash, peel and chop the carrots into chunks.
- Add them to the steamer and leave to cook for 10-15 minutes, until tender and cooked through.
- Once softened, blitz or mash to the desired consistency adding a little boiled water to thin as required.
- Store in portions using 1oz pots. Label the pots to freeze and use within one month.
Weaning and Storage
4-6 months – Blended to Runny Puree
6-7 months - Smooth and slightly thicker puree, no lumps
7-8 months - Thicker puree with increased texture
8-9 months - Minced and mashed with soft lumps.
9-12 months – Minced and finely chopped.
