Finding the perfect balance between nutrition and taste can sometimes be a challenge, but fear not – we've got you covered. I love using a food flask for school lunches. It ensures that my girls can enjoy a warm and comforting meal during lunchtime and allows me to offer them meals that i know they will eat, and actually enjoy!Â
Whether you're sending in a warm pasta dish for lunch or a healthy smoothie for breakfast, the options are endless. By batch cooking meals and freezing extra portions, these lunches can be ready in a matter of minutes
1. Berry Smoothie -If your kids are a fan of berries they'll love this Very Berry Smoothie. The addition of Greek yoghurt and banana makes this naturally sweet berry packed smoothie not only creamy but filling too! It makes a great addition to the school lunchbox
2. Thai Red Prawn Curry - This quick and simple Thai Prawn Red Curry is the perfect dish for lunches. Not only is it filled with lots of vegetables and packed full of flavour, it's also perfect to batch cook, and freeze extras for a quick lunch option
3. Hearty Vegetable Cottage Pie - After a delicious dish to get lots of veggies into your child's diet? This Hearty Vegetarian Cottage Pie recipe is the perfect healthy, vegetarian option
Â
4. Chilli Con Carne - The classic chilli con carne is something the whole family can enjoy! Hearty and flavoursome, this recipe can be spiced up or down to suit your needs. I like to portion mine into adult and child size portions, that way I know I have defrosted exactly what I need.
5. Chicken Pesto Courgetti - Courgette spaghetti (or courgetti), is a great way of sneaking in that little bit of added vegetables into the kids! Serving it with pesto (which they love) masks the green of the courgette which may mean they are more likely to accept it.
